2019 NBA Draft Reactions

This has been an awesome NBA Draft. Here were some of my reactions as they happened.

Green Room introductions:

Goga what?!? That’s a weird name

Also Bol Bol’s suit on point too

Brandon Clarke looks sharp.

When invited Nick Claxton to the greenroom?

Darius garland with the worst suit

Jaxson Hayes has a strong suit

Tyler Herro with a great suit

Deandre Hunter with the best suit so far!

Never mind Kelvin Johnson’s is lit!

Who the mess is the guy with all the letters from Florida st?

Langford has a very conservative suit.

Naz Little has a decent suit

Ja is on fleek!

Kevin Porter jr went conservative with the suit and iced himself out. Nice

Reddish with the nice leopard print blazer

Thybul with a good look

PJ Washington low key great suit.

Coby white don’t want his suit to distract from his hair.

Round One:

1. Zion should be in the HOF for his draft suit alone.

2. I cant wait to watch Ja live

3. Don’t sleep on RJ winning ROY with how bad NYK goin’ suck

4. Hunter to ATL is a great fit

5. Garland and Sexton are not going to be East Coast Dame and CJ.

6. Jarrett Culver is not worth Dario and 11 seems like a quality person though.

7. Coby White has the best hair in the draft and is the best fit for Chicago. They lucked out big time.

8. New Orleans gets Jaxson Hayes. Perfect fit with Zion and Lonzo.

9. Washington has decided they don’t want to ever win again.

10. Cam and Hunter is a solid amount of wing depth from ATL

11. Phx taking the one position they don’t need... and he’s older than half their roster.

12. PJ Washington is a good fit in Charlotte but he might move

13. Tyler Herro is a good fit in Miami. Back to back Wildcats. Also, his suit is fire!

14. Boston is imploding but at least they picked a solid contributor here at the end of the lottery with Langford.

15. Detroit needs wing talent. Doumbouya is one of the best wings left.

16. Who did Orlando take? *Googles him* oh that guy who lit it up in the tourney before blowing his knee out! Great player. Maybe a little early but I think he’s gonna be solid.

17. NOLA with another great pick. Alexander-Walker is a perfect fit there. And snakeskin suit for the win!

18. Goga.... has gone to the one team that does not need him. That may convince him to stay overseas...

19. Spurs take a really Spurs pick. I would have gone with one of the higher upside guys but Luka is going to fit with the Spurs culture.

20. Thybul is a solid pickup for the Celtics here. He’s a solid guy who I don’t know why he’s still on he board.... never mind. He’s going to Philly... Where he fits even better!

21. BRANDON CLARKE FITS SO STINKING WELL IN MEMPHIS!

22. Great pick by Boston with Grant Williams!

23. OKC and Memphis got positions of need by flipping picks. Bazley has one of the weirdest paths to the draft but good for him.

24. Ty Jerome is not the PG Phoenix wanted in this draft but I guess he’ll have to work.

25. Portland gets the gift of an amazing player at 25. Before the season people were talking about him as a top 5 pick.

26. Windier is a solid 3 and D option. Not sure he was the best option but everything at this point is hard to judge.

27. Who can the Clippers take that convinces Kawhi to come?... There is no way I’m ever going to be able to pronounce or spell this dudes name. Apparently his uncle is Mutombo. Good for him.

28. Surprise the warriors take the most confident shooter available. Way early for him..

29. Spurs pick Keldon Johnson. He’s a good fit on the wings... no way he should be available here though.

30. Cavs are gonna get Kevin Porter jr. Another guy who shouldn’t be available here.

ROUND 2:

31. Good fit in Brooklyn with Claxton. He looks like he wants to develop a jumper so that will be a great add to his game

32. KZ is a solid pick for Miami... he fits really well in their need for wing depth.

33. Boston gets Carsen Edwards. Is he going to fill some of that hole for a creator off the bench?

34. Atlanta takes.... Bruno Fernando. He was solid in Maryland... fits well but there’s a lot of bigs in ATL...

35. Atlanta with a wealth of picks can afford a long shot here. Marcos Louzada Silva. Apparently great defender.

36. Hornets nabbed Cody Martin. He could play a good role for them. Could complement everyone else like Batum does for them.

37. Mavs take Sirvydis... is he playing with Luka or are they trading him?... yep going to the Pistons.

38. Bulls get a great pogo-stick big to back up Carter. It’s solid especially if they move on from Robin Lopez.

39. Allen Smailagic... probably gonna stay in the g-league. Even after the trade probably staying in the g-league

40. Kings take... Justin James. Good shooter. Player a ton of minutes.

41. Warriors pick up Eric Paschall. He’s like a baby Draymond.

42. Sixers trades this pick to Washington. They finally make a decent pick with Admiral Schofield. Too bad he plays the same position as their bone headed lottery pick.

43. Minnesota picks Jaylen Nowell from Washington. He went under the radar because of Thybul but he could carve out some minutes.

44. Heat pick up Bol Bol. Finally he gets picked up. If he can stay healthy it’s going to be the biggest steal of the draft.... looks like he’s on the way to Denver though. The cheer he got from the crowd at the draft was the highlight of the night.

45. The Mavs got this pick in a trade earlier... looks like they’re taking Isaiah Roby, he’s a really solid player who some thought had first round talent.

46. This is a Lakers pick apparently... they’re taking Talon Horton-Tucker... I have no clue why unless they’re stashing him.

47. Sacramento is right in the edge of being a playoff contender...Brazdeikis probably isn’t pushing them over that hurdle.

48. Clippers get Terrance Mann from Florida St. If anyone can figure out how to use a defensive wing it’s Doc.

49. I don’t want to doubt RC Buford but.. I guess they watched a lot more Mississippi State than I did... looks like he’s decent though because all-SEC...

50. Jarrell Brantley... why is Indiana taking so many bigs?!?

51. Celtics add Tremont Waters... I don’t even think he’s the best LSU guy left but the Celts do great with small guards.

52. Charlotte gets Jalen McDaniels... I mean another San Diego State alumni who was known more as a rebounder than a scorer did really well recently....

53. Jazz pick up Justin Wright-Formeman. He’s really creative point. Utah is a perfect place to hide his bad defense.... might actually carve out a role in the NBA.

54. Shayok may not see the floor. Philly is really concerned with bringing other guys back.

55. Knicks take Kyle Guy... shooters gonna shoot... he could create some space for RJ.... oh his going to Sacramento... I like this a lot more now.

56. Jaylen Hands could be a good piece for Brooklyn as they grow up. But I doubt we see much out of him for the next few years.

57. New Orleans gets Jordan Bone from Tennessee and flip him to ATL. The Hawks need a backup point but I don’t know if he’s it.

58. Golden State nabs Miye Oni from Yale... he’s a lanky shooter... the exact type of player that I trust in Golden State a lot more than other teams.... looks like he’s going to Utah where he may fit even better.

59. The Raptors are gonna get Dewan Hernandez from Miami... Guy has some stupid eligibility stuff... I hate the NCAA glad someone drafted him!

60. With the last pick we have Vanja Marinkovic... this feels like a homer pick by Peja and Vlade but all good for him.

Final Thoughts:

Winners: New Orleans, Cleveland, Portland

Losers: Phoenix, Minnesota
