2019 Post Lottery mock draft

With probably the craziest draft lottery since 2003 behind us lets take a look at how the first round could shape out. Keep in mind its almost obvious that we are going to have multiple draft day trades and I wouldn't be surprised to see both the Knicks and Lakers trade out of the top five but lets jump right in.

1. New Orleans - Zion Williamson (Duke)

Hot take: David Griffith orchestrated the craziest take over in NBA history. He convinced Anthony Davis to act upset because he believes that Zion, Jrue and Davis are better than the Warriors big four. 2. Memphis - RJ Barrett (Duke)

Memphis probably needs a lead ball handler to jumpstart their rebuild so they could take Ja Morant however they've still got Mike Conley on the roster so they should give RJ a look here. It's so obviously going to be one of those two that it doesn't matter for them to scout anyone else because this is their only pick. 3. New York - Tears and Disappointment, also Ja Morant (Murray St)

We witnessed the collective moral collapse of the entire Knicks fan base as their envelope got called first in the top four. The whole "Zion or nothing" narrative was so stereotypically Knicks that it's laughable. Ideally the Grizzlies take Morant and the Knicks can keep their foolish "Kyrie and Durant" pipe dream alive with RJ Barrett instead of Zion but if the Grizzlies take RJ the Knicks will be stuck as the Knicks still for the foreseeable future. 4. Los Angeles Lakers - Cam Reddish (Duke)

I base this solely on Reddish being a Clutch client. Continue about your day. 5. Cleveland - Jared Culver (Texas Tech)

Cleveland has no entrenched identity so they need to take the guy who can give them a little bit of everything. 6. Phoenix - Coby White (North Carolina)

Hot take: Phoenix spent all year trying to get Ja Morant but the fit of Coby White or Darius Garland on the team will actually make them better in the long run. 7. Chicago - Darius Garland (Vanderbilt)

Kris Dunn is not the future at 1 for Chicago. It might not be Garland but they should at least try it. 8. Atlanta - De'Andre Hunter (Virginia)

Between Trae Young, Kevin Huerter, Taurean Prince and John Collins Atlanta is really deep in young core players. Hunter just pushes that celling higher and fits great 9. Washington - Bol Bol (Oregon)

Washington needs hope. Washington also constantly makes bad roster decisions. I sincerely hope that Bol Bol isn't as injury prone as I think he will be but I'm afraid instead of us seeing a 7'2" guy with guard handles and jump shot we are going to end up seeing a guy on the bench in a suit. 10. Atlanta (from Dallas) - Jaxon Hayes (Texas)

Atlanta doesn't have any holes in their roster but another lob target for Trae Young would be pretty awesome to see. 11. Minnesota - Rui Hachimura (Gonzaga)

The new Minnesota front office will probably go for a swing here. Hachimura is awesome but don't sleep on them chasing Romeo Langford or even Brandon Clarke in this spot either. 12. Charlotte - Romeo Langford (Indiana)

The Hornets need some shot creation outside of Kemba, who may not even stay. Langford can create shots. 13. Miami - Brandon Clarke (Gonzaga)

I really hope Clarke falls this far because Spolstra always finds the best ways to use unique guys and get the most out of them. I think he would be the best coach this early for Brandon. 14. Boston (from Sacramento via Philadelphia) - Sekou Doumbouya (France)

Boston can reach on Doumbouya here because it wont be bad for them if he stays overseas.

15. Detroit - Keldon Johnson (Kentucky)

Keldon gives Detroit a big body that can create some offense. It's something they were lacking of outside of Griffin last year. 16. Orlando - Kevin Porter Jr (USC)

Orlando needs creation out of the guard spot as they really don't have a 1 or 2 for their future (outside of Fultz). Porter is the best guard left so it's a good pick. 17. Brooklyn - PJ Washington (Kentucky)

Washington is a 4/5 who can really fit well with the growing core in Brooklyn. 18. Indiana - Nazir Little (North Carolina)

Naz is a high potential guy who probably wont fall this far but he's a lockdown defender who has an improving jumper. He also didn't start for North Carolina and looked lost for much of the year before breaking out in the tournament. He could go anywhere from 5-20 and I wouldn't be surprised. 19. San Antonio - Tyler Hero (Kentucky)

Tyler Hero feels like the classic Spurs pick here because he's got talent but got lost in a lot of stuff in college so he may need some redemption. 20. Boston (from LA Clippers via Memphis) - Naz Ried (LSU)

Naz is a great big for Boston to pick up here. He's full of skill and has a high floor, motor questions aside. 21. Oklahoma City - Nikel Alexander-Walker (Virginia Tech)

OKC has wing depth problems so they'll take the best wing available. 22. Boston - Goga Bitdze (Republic of Georgia)

This is another great draft and stash guy for Boston who's already got Al Horford comparisons. 23. Utah - Cameron Johnson (North Carolina)

Utah could really use some wing depth here but don't sleep on them addressing their guard issues with a Carsen Edwards type. 24. Philadelphia - Jontay Porter (Missouri)

Injury prone big guy who had a lot of hype going into college? Sign Philly up! 25. Portland - Carsen Edwards (Purdue)

Portland needs someone to run the offense off the bench that isn't Evan Turner. Edwards is like a baby Dame so it makes a good fit. 26. Cleveland (from Houston) - Daniel Gafford (Arkansas)

Cleveland will pick whoever they think has the highest star potential here. Gafford lost a lot of stock by staying in college another year but they'll probably roll the dice. 27. Brooklyn (from Denver) - KZ Okpala (Stanford)

Forwards who can play defense and don't gum up spacing don't come this late all that often so if he's here he would be a good pick for Brooklyn. 28. Golden State - Ty Jerome (Virginia)

The Warriors number one priority this off season will be retaining Durant and Thompson. Number two will be adding wing depth behind them. Jerome can shoot so he's valuable there. 29. San Antonio (from Toronto) - Grant Williams (Tennessee)

Williams will be a perfect San Antonio Project. 30. Milwaukee - Eric Paschall (Villanova)

Milwaukee is strapped and will have free agency issues. Paschall fits the current play style so they'll probably kick the tires here.
